Mosman Park Renovations Project Brief

This beautiful home renovation in the Perth suburb of Mosman Park was all about upgrading and aesthetics. The client came to us because they wanted to deal with a building company that could help them transform their home into a spacious, modern and functional space. 

The brief involved a lot of natural lighting and light colours throughout, which as you can see in the photos, we achieved with off-white marble finishes and cabinetry in the kitchen and bathrooms as well as opening up the living space in to let more light in. 

The main features in the brief included:

  1. Light colouring
  2. Bright and sunny utilising natural light
  3. Kitchen island and open plan
  4. Polished timber flooring

We set out to gain a complete picture of the client’s vision for their home and from there we worked on a room by room approach, breaking down into the details of what was required for each area.  At Westridge, we work from the ground up with our clients to ensure all details are captured in the brief.

Obstacles that we overcame

 

Our clients wanted to create a yoga room that could easily be multipurposed.  Sound minimization to reduce unwanted noise transferring between the yoga and TV rooms was required.

 

The Mosman Park Renovations Project Outcome

 

Acoustic wall lining and insulation was the key to creating the yoga room separation from the TV room.  Deeper studs were used to accommodate the acoustic insulation requirements with single layer acoustic Gyproc wall board on either side being installed as well.  We also installed an acoustic window to provide natural light between the rooms.  

 

Home Owner

This family wanted to remain in the home that they love, rather than move away, for this reason they chose to modify it to suit their changing needs.  The home hadn’t had any major renovation work undertaken for some time, so it was the best option to modify and renovate the existing spaces to create their desired outcome.
